Experience the newest technologies in the pork industry, participate in production seminars and watch outstanding breeding stock shows and sales at the 2012 World Pork Expo. The event, scheduled for June 6-8, attracts 20,000 people to the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, IA.

The annual event is sponsored by the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC). For a full slate of events and to register, go to www.worldpork.org.

“World Pork Expo has become a must-see event for pork producers and allied industry throughout the world,” says Doug Fricke, NPPC’s director of trade show marketing. “Interest in this year’s Expo is high, with some of the official World Pork Expo hotels already sold out.”

Attendees can enjoy the trade show from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., June 6 and 7, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 8. Sales of prizewinners in the breeding stock shows will be held on June 9 beginning at 8 a.m.

Producers and pork industry professionals make World Pork Expo the world’s largest pork-specific trade show. Attendees can listen to business seminars on feeding for 30 pigs/sow/year, improving manure handling, managing nutrition, and weather and economic outlooks.

Pork Academy sessions address  undercover videos, transport bedding, porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome, feed ingredients, foot-and-mouth disease and trade issues.

MusicFest entertainment features Grammy winner David Ball and The Blooze Brothers, America’s top tribute band.

Attendees can scour the fairgrounds for the newest products, services and technologies offered by more than 450 commercial exhibitors.

National Hog Farmer will again conduct its new products tour (see pages 52-55) to find the most promising new products and services introduced by exhibitors since last year’s Expo.
