The 2018 World Pork Expo is brought to by the letter “T”. As Neil Dierks, National Pork Producers Council CEO, shared with National Hog Farmer, one theme of Expo also organically surfaces each year and this year it is trade and tariffs.
At the beginning of Expo, Mexico announced punitive tariffs on U.S. pork. And it is clear pork is a target in the current trade wars. However, speaking with pork producers, they express concern, but many say it is not the time to panic.
