Remembering a Great World Pork Expo

The World Pork Expo attracted thousands of visitors from the U.S. and more than 33 countries to Des Moines, Iowa, at the beginning of June.

The 2014 World Pork Expo as a feast for the eyes, and of course the rest of you given the quality pork available to visitors. And it seems it was only yesterday we were hearing from Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack about the new reporting requirements. We also had just learned about a new industry audit program that brought processors together for the first time.

It was a happening event where we learned a lot of about a range of key topics for the industry. We also got to see folks set up the show, and we got a look at why people make the trip to the big event.

And you can't forget that big pork burger, another record breaker that took quite a bit of work to get from start to finish. We saw a lot at this year's big show, as did the thousands of visitors who trekked to Des Moines, Iowa.

There's nothing like the World Pork Expo, a show that's dedicated to all of the tools and tactics it takes to raise high quality pork using humane techniques that keep animals safe and comfortable. We thought it would be fun to relive some more light-hearted scenes from the show this year, so check out this last gallery from the 2014 event where we offer some fun images we saw during the event.

Share it with your Facebook friends, we saw quite a few interesting things at this year's event.
