The National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) has announced the entertainment for MusicFest, the social highlight of World Pork Expo. From 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on June 7, Expo attendees can enjoy free roasted pork and refreshments while viewing live performances by The Blooze Brothers and GrammyAwards winner David Ball. MusicFest is included in the price of admission to World Pork Expo, which will be held at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, IA.
“MusicFest is the perfect way to end an action-packed day of seeing the newest products and technologies, and learning about industry issues during World Pork Expo,” says Doug Fricke, director of trade show marketing, NPPC. “This year’s MusicFest performers will provide a highly entertaining backdrop as producers and exhibitors mingle, enjoying sponsors’ hospitality in the tents that fill the length of Grand Avenue.”
David Ball, a Grammy-winning country music singer and songwriter who is touring with his band, The Pioneer Playboys, will open MusicFest. His music is described as simple yet sophisticated, swingy and bluesy with a touch of Tex-Mex and Latin flavor.
Ball’s chart-topping hits include “Thinkin’ Problem” and “Riding With Private Malone,” which made him one of the first artists to take an indie single to the Country Top 5. In conjunction with the release of “What’ll I Do If I Don’t Have You,” Ball teamed up with Operation Troop Aid, a charitable organization that sends care packages to deployed U.S. troops.
Called America’s No. 1 Tribute Band, The Blooze Brothers will bring their signature high-powered, choreographed, 12-piece-band show to the MusicFest stage.
They have mastered the music and crazy antics of the original Blues Brothers that John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd made famous on Saturday Night Live. In addition, they’ll perform music from the ’40s, swing, Motown and classic-rock genres, as well as original tunes that will be a perfect backdrop as you visit with other Expo attendees.
