The Pork Institute will be held June 11-13, 2012 on the University of Missouri campus in Columbia. Registration fee of $100 covers materials, meals, lodging and field trips. Participants are responsible for travel costs to and from Columbia.

Space is restricted to 15 students and all high school students are encouraged to apply. A selection committee of university faculty and leaders in the pork industry will screen the applicants. The applications must be postmarked by May 1. Results of the selection process will be announced May 8, 2012.

Planned activities include a tour of the Triumph Foods pork processing plant in St. Joseph, MO, and a live animal ultrasound. Attendees will also tour a modern swine facility. At the conclusion of the institute, participants will take a written examination. The top two highest-scoring individuals will each earn a $500 scholarship to the University of Missouri-Columbia.
