Minnesota Pork promotes Resler to chief operating officer

The Minnesota Pork Producers Association has promoted Jill Resler to chief operating officer. Resler joined MPPA in May 2009 as director of producer services — director of education.

“I am humbled by the opportunity to do something that I love on behalf of those involved in the Minnesota pork industry,” Resler says. “The passion, integrity, collaboration and vision of our stakeholders inspire me every day.”

Dave Preisler was named chief executive officer and will now be more heavily involved in advocacy activities in Saint Paul representing Minnesota’s more than 3,000 family pig farmers on political and regulatory issues.

“Jill will oversee day-to-day operations at the Minnesota Pork Producers Association/Minnesota Pork Board office and provide leadership to checkoff-funded programs,” Preisler says. “My role will be more hands-on with lobbying, working with government agencies and other organizations to represent pork producers’ interests.”

Preisler joined the MPPA in 1994 as executive director and has overseen both non-checkoff and checkoff programs.

“This change is a positive change and helps clarify the structure of our successful organizations,” says Jay Moore, Minnesota Pork Producers Association president. “This change allows Dave to focus on his strengths in networking and politics while an extremely capable and young leader in Jill thrives in areas of development and checkoff programs. This is a positive change for our organization allowing staff to utilize their strengths and continue to work together successfully.”
