The National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) has presented its “Friend of the Pork Producer” award to President George W. Bush for his commitment to agriculture and other key issues of importance to U.S. pork producers.
The presentation was made at an awards ceremony held in the President’s honor in St. Cloud, MN, by NPPC President-Elect Don Buhl of Tyler, MN.
Observes Buhl: “The President’s proven track record in opening new and foreign markets for U.S. pork, his dedication to working with producers and other industry leaders to better ensure the health of our swine herd and his tireless efforts to use reason and science in shaping environmental policies impacting agriculture have not gone unnoticed. He is a true friend to our industry to whom we are proud to present this award.”
