The Pacific Maritime Association voted overwhelmingly in favor of a new labor contract with dockworkers, and representatives from the International Longshore and Warehouse Union have also agreed to ratify the new agreement. This finally ends the 11-month-long labor disagreement that disrupted the West Coast ports and caused major problems especially for U.S. agricultural exports. The new contract is retroactive to July 1, 2014, and will continue through June 30, 2019.
