Cipriano de Abreu received best presentation awards for talks on Mycoplasma hyorhinis detection; aerosol infection model for Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae.

During the 26th IPVS congress in Rio de Janeiro this past month, a number of presentations were given by University of Minnesota speakers, sharing the latest in swine research. Cipriano de Abreu from the MycoLab received two best presentation awards for his talks: "Mycoplasma hyorhinis detection in dams and piglets during lactation" and "An experimental aerosol infection model for Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae in pigs."
While Fabio Vannucci was a member of the scientific committee, a vast number of UMN faculty members and graduate students gave presentations:
"Evaluation of air filters in swine farms as a surveillance method to assess the spread of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome and influenza A viruses," Gustavo Lopez
"The path ahead on Mycoplasma control," Maria Pieters
"Changes in the upper and lower respiratory microbiome during early Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae infection in pigs," Maria Pieters

"Distinguishing viable from non-viable Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae by PCR," Maria Pieters
"Multi-farm long-term investigation of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae detection in processing fluids," Maria Pieters
"Assessing Senecavirus A shedding and transmission in growing pig populations," Guilherme Preis
