The Utah Pork Producers Association donated 35,000 pounds of bacon and other pork products to the Utah Food Bank last week. The generous contribution, made in partnership with Daily’s Premium Meats, underscores the commitment by UPPA and its partners to address food insecurity across the state.

“Food insecurity is a critical issue that affects many families in our community,” said Jim Webb, UPPA president. “Through this donation, we aim to make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most. We are grateful for Daily’s Premium Meats’ support and the participation of local university athletes in this important cause.”

UPPA members, alongside football players from Brigham Young University and Utah State University, delivered the donation to the Utah Food Bank. The donation is part of UPPA’s ongoing efforts to give back to the community.

“This donation brings more than just food to the table; it brings hope and nourishment to countless families across Utah,” said Ginette Bott, president & CEO of the Utah Food Bank. “We are deeply grateful for the partnership and the incredible support from UPPA, Daily’s Meats, and BYU and USU Athletics. Together, we are making a profound difference in the fight against hunger in our community.”

“Pork farmers across the nation are committed to nurturing their communities by generously donating to those in need,” said Elaine Otte, National Pork Board. "This donation showcases the spirit of cooperation and kindness that defines the industry.”

Over the past five years, the UPPA has consistently supported the Utah Food Bank, donating a total of 175,000 pounds of meat. This ongoing commitment underscores UPPA’s dedication to nourishing our community and combating hunger throughout Utah.
