It has been said that it takes a village to raise a child. Likewise, it can be said that it takes a village to tell the story of the American hog producer.
From the 1,400-plus trained Operation Main Street speakers doing 9,000-plus presentations, to America’s Pig Farmer of the Year, many voices are being used to share the story that American pork producers bring the safest porcine product to the global table.
For the last three years, the National Pork Board has presented classes of young people to speak out on behalf of the U.S. pork producer in the form of Pig Farmers of Tomorrow.
This year’s class — Bailee Arnold of North Carolina, Ben Luebbering of Missouri and Ben Wikner of Iowa — was announced last week at the 2019 National Pork Industry Forum in Orlando.
Their backgrounds may vary, but the passion that each one has evident when you grab a few minutes of their time. Throughout the next year, they will share that passion through social media channels as well as face-to-face communications.
Check out this video to get to know the faces of the 2019 Pig Farmers of Tomorrow who will be sharing their story and the story of the U.S. pork industry.
