Steve Meyer of Paragon Economics announced in an email to clients that he had recently completed the sale of Paragon Economics Inc. to Express Markets Inc. Analytics of Fort Wayne, Ind., and has joined their staff as vice president of Pork Analysis.

“I’m excited about joining the professional staff at EMI, an associate company of Agri Stats Inc., the long-time industry leader in performance analysis of chicken, turkey, egg and pork production and processing operations,” Meyer said.

Express Markets and EMI Analytics have been involved in price discovery and analysis for the broiler industry since 2003. They added similar capabilities for turkey in 2008, and now desire to add market analysis of pork and beef markets to their product offerings in order to meet the broad information and knowledge needs of customers throughout the meat and poultry production, processing and marketing systems.

“I believe this sale, access to the EMI Analytics staff, and subsequent broader product coverage mean only good things for you, my valued and appreciated Paragon Economics clients,” Meyer went onto say in his email. Meyer will continue to contribute the “Market Review” column to the National Hog Farmer’s Weekly Preview newsletter.

Meyer says the only major change is that he will no longer be involved with “The Daily Livestock Report”. Steiner Consulting Group has bought his interest in the long-standing partnership and will continue to publish “The Daily Livestock Report” sponsored by CME Group. Meyer says he will continue to write “roughly half” of the daily editions through August.
