Lehe adds to Diamond V swine expertise

Diamond V recently welcomed Karen Lehe, DVM, DACVPM, who has joined the company as director, Swine Business Development.
“I am happy to announce that Dr. Karen Lehe has joined the Diamond V team,” says Kevin Larson, director, National Accounts for Diamond V. “In her new role, Karen will lead the development and execution of Diamond V’s swine business strategy in North America.”
Raised on a beef cattle and tobacco farm in southwest Virginia, Lehe earned her BS in Biology from Virginia Tech and her DVM from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. After completing her studies, she served three years in residency at Michigan State University, conducting research on oxidative stress in pigs, as well as teaching and providing production medicine services.
Lehe then worked nine years in veterinary practice, becoming co-owner of Wolcott Veterinary Clinic/Indiana Animal Health in Wolcott, Ind. She provided herd-health veterinary services to pork producers in a six-state area as well as industry expertise to animal health and genetics providers. During this time, she was also the veterinarian of record for Hickory Ridge Research and Consulting LLC where she served as the principal investigator, ensured animal welfare, maintain regulatory compliance and managed research trial budgets.
Later, she moved to the animal health and nutrition industry, working in technical service and senior account management roles with Intervet/Schering Plough Animal Health, Novus International, and most recently, Merck Animal Health. Lehe is based near Monticello, Ind.
“Karen brings more than 20 years of technical and industry experience to our team in the areas of swine production medicine and consulting, animal research and welfare, field-based technical service, sales, development of training and intern programs, and account management,” Larson adds. “Her wide-ranging experience in the swine industry will provide integral leadership for our business strategy.”
