The Food and Drug Administration announced that it is extending the comment period for its proposed rule of using the term “Natural” on food labels. FDA has extended the comment period until May 10, because of the “complexity” of the issue.

The proposed rule released last November asked for comments on whether it is appropriate to define the term “natural,” if the FDA should define the term and if the agency should determine the appropriate use of “natural” on food labels.
