Midwest America’s pig farmers battled the elements to attend the 45th Annual Iowa Pork Congress this week. Similar to dealing with winter weather woes, pork producers are taking the past few months of ugly marketing in stride as recent market rallies shine a shimmer of optimism for better days ahead. Steve Meyer, vice president at Express Markets Inc. Analytics, tells the Iowa Pork Congress that swine profitability should remain in the black for 2017, but at a much lower level.
