Register online today for the Carthage Veterinary Service Ltd 25th Annual Swine Conference held on Tuesday, September 1st, 2015 on the scenic campus of Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL. This conference is known for providing quick fire sessions with cutting edge information that you can implement the day after the conference. Diverse breakout sessions on Breed-to-Wean, Wean-to-Market, and CEO/Management allow all caregivers, managers, and owners to hone in on their interests. With 600+ attendees last year, this conference allows for networking with peers and allied industries, which make this meeting a must attend for the industry!

This year’s theme of “Leading the Pack” will offer numerous successful speakers to present information about the economic, social, and environmental issues that shape our businesses. To celebrate 25 years of the Carthage Swine Conference, we are proud to have three accomplished industry professionals that will reflect on those last 25 years and explore what’s to come in the next 25 Years. Pat Hord (producer), Dr. Joseph Connor (veterinarian), and Dr. Dennis DiPietre (economist) will use their industry experience and share what it will take to remain as a sustainable business.

Speakers like Dr. Marie Culhane, Dr. Angela Baysinger, Dr. Gustavo Pizarro, and Dr. Larry Firkins will present information about disease, animal well-being, and management of production, people, and processes.  The latest information on major industry topics will be discussed.

In conjunction with 25th Annual Carthage Swine Conference, we have invited Drs. Mike Brumm and Steve Pohl to host a Ventilation Workshop one day prior to the conference on Monday, August 31st. The Workshop will be held in Carthage at the Learning and Development Center which features a three room pig barn. In this barn is a farrowing, gestation, and a wean to finish room fully equipped with different style controllers, inlets, and fans. Rooms are set up with the ability to fog and visually observe ventilation. Drs. Pohl and Brumm are industry leading experts in swine barn design and ventilation and have hosted hundreds of talks and in-barn field application in order to train managers of swine production facilities. This seminar will run from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm on Monday, August 31st with snacks and lunch provided. PSD, Inc. is a sponsor which offsets the cost of the Ventilation Workshop to $50 per participant. Space is limited so be sure to sign up early. Registration to sign up for this training is  located in the online registration for conference attendees.

Following the ventilation workshop, we encourage participants to attend the Illinois Pork Producers Pork Chop Open golf outing dinner at Western Illinois Golf Course. Dinner registration is $25/person and will be held following golf play at approximately 5:30 pm. Stay overnight in Macomb for the 25th Annual Swine Conference on Tuesday, September 1st.
