Pork producers who are seeking a coordinated or customized approach to managing electronic information, either via their own Web site or through a mobile application (app), may want to check out what AgriCharts has to offer.

According to Mark Haraburda, AgriCharts managing director, pork operations of all sizes can develop customized content for disseminating to customers, contractors or employees, or can take advantage of weather or market information provided by AgriCharts. Building and managing Web sites is just one of a number of targeted electronic solutions and options the group offers.

The company recently released a new AgriCharts mobile application, available at www.agricharts.com/mobile, that offers real-time or delayed viewing of quotes, charts and analysis for livestock, grains and other commodity markets. The new mobile service features a new design and user interface that focuses on enhanced touch-screen navigation used by iPhone, Android and other smartphone owners.

“The mobile platform can be private-labeled for third-party companies,” Haraburda explains. “Producers can pick and choose what content they would like to feature to make it their own mobile Web site.”

AgriCharts Mobile also features comprehensive weather conditions, specific forecasts and radar maps and commodity-related news. For producers who already have their own Web site, AgriCharts can integrate the producer’s content into the mobile service to provide a consistent package for delivering a farm’s information.

AgriCharts also offers a text messaging and email alert service, so producers can work with the company to send timely commodity market updates or pertinent information to employees or clients.

AgriCharts is the agricultural division of Barchart.com, Inc., which provides market data, agribusiness Web site hosting and technology solutions.
