Geert Rombouts has been appointed managing director of Topigs Norsvin België. In this position, he will also be responsible for the AI activities Topigs Norsvin carries out in Belgium. Rombouts will start his new position on July 10 and will report to Arno van de Laar, regional director Europe.

With the arrival of Rombouts, Topigs Norsvin strengthens its position with a managing director who knows the Belgian market well and has considerable experience in swine genetics. For much of his career, he worked at Choice Genetics, RA-SE Genetics and Seghers Hybrid, where he held various positions.

"We are pleased with the arrival of Geert Rombouts," said van de Laar. "With his knowledge and experience of both breeding and the Belgian pig industry, he will contribute to the further strengthening of the recently established new structure of Topigs Norsvin in Belgium, a structure that will contribute to strengthening the swine industry, for example by developing market concepts."

"With an open mind and almost 30 years of experience in international swine genetics, I want to examine together with the Belgian pig market how genetics can be used to strengthen the chain," said Rombouts. "That requires a breeding organization with a strong international position, which it maintains through research and development. I felt Topigs Norsvin was the best choice for this."
