Ralco welcomes Jacob Richert as its new associate swine nutritionist. With a Ph.D. in swine nutrition from Purdue University, a master’s degree in swine nutrition from Kansas State University and a bachelor’s degree in animal production from Purdue University, Richert brings a wealth of knowledge to the Ralco Swine Technical Team.

In his new role, Richert will play a key part in developing and supporting swine nutrition and health products at Ralco. He will also provide technical assistance to account managers and their customers, focusing primarily on the Eastern Corn Belt.

"I’m excited to work at a company that encourages innovative thinking," says Richert. "Ralco stood out to me for its use of natural ingredients that promote animal health and performance, all while improving profitability for the producer. I wanted to be part of a team with a strong culture and a meaningful mission of producing high-quality pork, and Ralco offered me just that."

Since its establishment in 1971, Ralco has been dedicated to bridging the gap between swine producers' challenges and the needs of end consumers by optimizing pork production. With 17 patents in natural approaches such as essential oils, prebiotics and microbial processes, Ralco's health and nutrition products are designed to enhance swine performance, reduce health issues and minimize the use of antibiotics.

"I’m thrilled to have Dr. Jacob Richert on board," said Russell Fent, Ralco's director of swine technical services. "His level-headed approach, attentive listening skills and deep understanding of customer needs make him the perfect addition to our team. He can provide the exceptional service and knowledge our customers require to evolve in the industry."

Richert recently relocated to Marshall, Minnesota from Lafayette, Indiana. When he isn’t working, he enjoys fishing, hunting and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings football team. He’s also an active member of the American Society of Animal Science.
