Missouri Sets Series of ‘We Care’ Seminars

The Missouri Pork Association has slated a series of seminars highlighting “We Care” and the Ethical Principles at several sites around the state in late November.
The programs are scheduled for:
Nov. 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the 4-H Building in Mexico, MO;
Nov. 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Pork Place, Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia, MO;
Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Thiebaud Auditorium in Lamar, MO; and
Nov. 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Nevada Country Club in Nevada, MO.
Rob Christine of the National Pork Board will address “We Care” ethical principles.
Don Nikodim of Missouri Pork Association will discuss animal activists and legislative issues.
“We Care” quizzes will be held.
Tim Safranski of the University of Missouri will detail baby pig survival – making every pig count.
Vern Pierce, University of Missouri Extension and associate professor of agricultural economics, will look at regulatory compliance and Missouri’s nuisance law.
Ron Plain of the University of Missouri and professor of agricultural economics will provide a market outlook.
