Wouldn’t it be nice to know the optimum time to breed your sows?

Ro-Main believes it has the solution with PigWatch6, which is a hardware and software reproduction management system, with the added precision provided by artificial intelligence algorithms that are all tied together with the PigWatch Integration Program. This is an intensive support program led by a PigWatch specialist to help each customer achieve reproduction goals and improve as the technology evolves.

Abilio Pereira, PigWatch business development and technical manager, says the monitoring unit reads the sows movements and their behavior, and translates that into creating an estrus cycle picture to provide a narrower window for breeding. This helps increase genetic improvement rates and accelerate the spread of new genetic traits through single-dose insemination and optimized fertility.

Judge Brad Leuwerke considered the product to be “a really unique concept, especially with the labor-short industry.” Judge Pat Thome says, “Tools like this will help push sow productivity to the next level.”
