The Taiwan legislature voted to allow the importation of U.S. beef containing ractopamine. According to the U.S. Meat Export Federation, the law will allow Taiwan to import beef containing traces of ractopamine that are consistent with science-based food safety guidelines. Taiwan’s action follows the approval of ractopamine standards by Codex earlier this month.
