Farm Progress welcomes Ann Hess as editor of National Hog Farmer, the nation’s leading information resource serving the pork industry.

Farm Progress announces new National Hog Farmer editor

Farm Progress’ National Hog Farmer names Ann Hess as its editor to cover the pork industry. She brings solid work experience in journalism and the animal health and nutrition industry to her new role. She joins its team the first week of September.

“We’re excited to have Ann join the team,” says Willie Vogt, Farm Progress executive director of content and user engagement. “National Hog Farmer is part of our dynamic livestock group and provides the industry-critical research and market information daily.”

Hess worked for global animal health company Alltech for 12 years and most recently was a staff writer for Agdaily.com, where she covered agricultural topics, and helped build and develop that brand’s FFA feature.

A native of South Dakota, Hess holds a B.A. degree in journalism from the South Dakota State University. Hess lives with her husband and two children in Brookings, S.D.
