Max Armstrong offers some history on the Farm Progress Show, which celebrates its 69th year. The show got its start in 1953 when the germinated to bring equipment to one place for farmers to get a look at the latest tools. The first show was in Vermillion County, Ill., on October 2, 1953 which drew more than 75,000 people and provided visitors the opportunity to see the latest in farm equipment and crop production tools.
