Michigan pork producers can earn a Certificate of Training in grow-finish management from Michigan State University.
Producers who register will watch two CDs containing the course materials and complete an on-farm data collection assignment and worksheet prior to attending a group discussion workshop.
The workshops will be held at seven sites in the state: Dowagiac on Jan. 25, Coldwater on Jan. 27, Jackson on Jan. 28, Big Rapids on Feb. 14, Cass City on Feb. 15, Zeeland on Feb. 16 and at Carson City, MI, on Feb. 17.
The program is valued at $200. Because of grants from the National Pork Board and Michigan State University Extension, producers pay only $25.
Send your name, farm name, mailing address and phone number with a check for $25 made out to Michigan State University to: Dr. Barbara Straw, A201 Vet Med Center, MSU, East Lansing, MI 48824. Specify which location is preferred.
