IQ Scientific Instruments has released the IQ3000 graphing/data-logging thermometer. It can log up to 10,000 data points and runs on the Palm OS operating system. Readings are saved with a date/time stamp, operator name and can be downloaded to a PC.

Oral Erysipelas Vaccine
Fort Dodge Animal Health has received USDA license approval for SUVAXYN E-Oral, an erysipelas vaccine for mass application through automated water proportioners. The vaccine is an avirulent live culture of Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae for administration to pigs 6 weeks of age or older. The vaccine is packaged in 100-, 250- and 500-dose lyophilized vials with flavored diluent to enhance consumption of water.

Cotswold Swine Genetics announces the availability of a new Red Duroc boar line, the 915MQ (Meat Quality). The boar line has superior meat color and quality, including optimal pH levels, high water-holding capacity and appropriate lean percentage, plus excellent growth performance and durability. Cotswold's source herds are PRRS-naive and Mycoplasmal pneumonia-naive.

Combination Usage Approved
Alpharma Animal Pharmaceuticals has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for the combination use of bacitracin methylene disalicylate (BMD) and chlortetracycline (Aureomycin) in feed rations to control ileitis and treat respiratory or other enteric diseases. Alpharma suggests continuous feeding 30 g./ton of BMD, and adding 10 mg/lb. of bodyweight of Aureomycin when threats of respiratory or enteric disease occur.

Brown Bear Corporation has introduced a revised model of its farm tractor composter, the PTO PA35C-10.5. The unit is designed to be attached to the front of 100- to 160-hp. tractors and requires a front, three-point hitch, 1,000 RPM and a creeper transmission. Available for ISO and counter ISO PTO shaft rotation.

Bimeda, Inc. has received Food and Drug Administration approval for a zero withdrawal time for Tetroxy HCA, a water soluble powder of oxytetracycline HC1 for therapeutic antibiotic treatment in the drinking water of swine. Available in bulk pails or in pre-measured foil packets.

Pressure Washer
Tuff Pressure Washers introduces a new line of self-contained, skid-mounted, gasoline- and diesel-powered-hot-water pressure washers. The “Super Skid” TNT line has 12 models, eight gas-powered models with Honda or Vanguard engines, and four diesel-powered units, with Lombardini engines. They range from 3.5 to 5.6 gpm and 3,000 to 3,500 psi of water pressure. Other features include a spring-loaded, trigger gun with insulated wand, high-pressure detergent injection system, 50 ft. of wire braid hose rated for up to 4,500 psi and tri-lingual operating instructions in English, Spanish and French.

Concrete Repair
Vanberg Specialized Coatings announces the release of an epoxy formulation, V-SEAL-CR. It can be used on any horizontal concrete deck that requires a seal or coating and can be used to restore old concrete or protect new concrete. The product forms a chemical and wear-resistant barrier, but does not make the floor slippery. Also bonds with any concrete surface without acid etching.
