It must seem like Christmas in February for GM automakers who received record profit sharing payouts of up to $12,000 each. GM is finishing 2016 with 71 day supply of cars and trucks, which is a little above what the industry views as healthy. GM is going to idle production at some plants as car sales decline this year.
