Max Armstrong reports on an effort in Congress to bring transparency to livestock pricing

March 10, 2021

Max Armstrong looks at a bipartisan bill in the Senate – the Cattle Market Transparency Act of 2021 – which would set regional cash minimums and provide operations with more pricing information. Max notes that the American Farm Bureau Federation is in support of the effort. AFBF President Zippy Duvall says there's a need because when the pandemic hit, consumer prices rose while the price paid on farms fell. Max shares other insights on the measure as well.

Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
