Most Farms are Family Owned


The USDA Economic Research Service (ERS), in its 2010 report on the structure and finances of U.S. farms, says 98% of all U.S. farms are family-owned and they represented 88% of production in 2010.  According to the report, “large-scale family farms” represent 10% of all farms and 72% of the value of production.
