Mexico to Withhold Duties on U.S. Chicken Imports

The Mexican Ministry of Economy ruled in favor of Mexican poultry companies in the anti-dumping case on U.S. chicken leg quarters.  Due to concerns over avian flu, the Ministry will temporarily withhold duties on U.S. chicken leg quarters.  The National Chicken Council said, “We are pleased with the decision by COCEX (Comisión de Comercio Exterior) to prevent implementation of any duties, but we strongly disagree with the findings of dumping.  We continue to maintain that Mexico’s basis for making such a determination is flawed and that international bodies would not support such a finding.”
