The Senate Judiciary Committee is asking the Government Accountability Office to study last year’s drop in cattle prices. In a letter to GAO, the committee says that given the “unique and prominent role of the fed cattle market in U.S. agriculture and the economy generally” an analysis of the market forces associated with last year’s drop in prices is needed.
