A native of South Dakota, Ann Hess holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from South Dakota State University. Before joining National Hog Farmer in September 2018, Hess worked for AGDAILY.com as a staff writer, where she covered agricultural and rural lifestyle topics and helped to build and develop AGDAILY’s FFA feature page.
Prior to joining AGDAILY in 2016, Hess worked for global animal health company Alltech for 12 years, first as a territory marketing coordinator and then as a member of Alltech’s global press team. As Alltech’s on-farm communications manager, Hess coordinated media relations, press conferences, special events, articles, pitches and news releases with the global livestock and trade media.
Hess lives with her husband and two children in Brookings, S.D.
