Genetiporc has engineered the new G 6.0 boar to reduce production costs as hogs are fed to heavier market weights by making significant improvements in feed conversion. This terminal sire line provides a new level of genetic performance needed for business models to remain competitive. More than 500,000 pigs of the newly selected line combinations have been raised commercially. More than 100 trials demonstrate that the G 6.0 terminal sire is delivering 0.15-0.20 improvements in feed efficiency up to 290 lb. market weight, representing an improved carcass value of $7-10/head.
