The Pork Checkoff has launched an interactive map of U.S. pork packing plants to provide the most up-to-date information for the industry. The map provides the operating status as well as the current capacity at each plant. To view the map, click here.

The resource is one of many the checkoff has provided since the emergence of COVID-19 in the U.S.

Bill Even, chief executive officer of the National Pork Board, told Feedstuffs this week that in March, the board immediately started reducing spending and readjusting the budget to refocus on areas of urgent need to producers. In addition, it immediately began to work on what sort of producer resources would be needed as a result of COVID-19, which resulted in a range of documents that included information on limit feeding, animal welfare, emergency depopulation and disposal, if needed.
