Iowa Swine Day set for June 29

New for 2023 is a pre-conference BBQ and social time at the Hansen Agricultural Student Learning Center the evening of Wednesday, June 28.

The 12th annual Iowa Swine Day has a program packed with highly regarded speakers focusing on important issues facing U.S. pork producers. The event will be held Thursday, June 29 in the Scheman Building, Iowa State Center, in Ames, Iowa. 

Registration opens mid-April 2022.

Morning plenary session
The morning plenary session will include the following topics/speakers:

  • Learned excellence – Eric Potterat, performance psychologist, Los Angeles Dodgers 

  • Understanding the carbon market and how it applies to your business – Joseph Kerns, president, Partners for Production Agriculture, Ames, Iowa

  • Genetic improvements in a sustainable food system – Banks Baker, global director, product sustainability, PIC, Hendersonville, Tennessee

  • Can animal agriculture save the planet? – Jack Bobo, director, global food and water policy, The Nature Conservancy, Potomac, Maryland 

Afternoon concurrent sessions
The afternoon program will feature four topic tracks with a total of 16 presentations to select from. View the conference program for more details. 

Pre-conference BBQ and social
New for 2023 is a pre-conference BBQ and social time at the Hansen Agricultural Student Learning Center the evening of Wednesday, June 28, 2023. This event, hosted by AB Vista, TechMix and Lynch Livestock, will be tailored towards student networking, but is open to all conference attendees. Additional details coming soon.
