The Producers Opportunity for Revenue and Knowledge (P.O.R.K.) Academy is slated for June 9 at the Holiday Inn University Park, West Des Moines, IA. The event is held annually on the eve of World Pork Expo, scheduled for June 10-12 in Des Moines.
Pork Academy runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Morning sessions cover business management, swine health and facilities and equipment. Afternoon presentations include marketing, reproduction, swine nutrition, production and management systems, sow longevity and environmental stewardship.
Pfizer Animal Health is the industry sponsor of the checkoff-funded event. Advance registration is $100/person; on-site registration is $115/person. The registration fee covers lunch and materials, including a CD-ROM of conference proceedings.
