The staff of the Ghrist Veterinary Clinic, Pittsfield, IL (www.pikepigsystems.com), is having some fun with an old school bus that is destined to compete in a local demolition derby. “The guys had the idea to make it look like a pig,” explains Tasha Brannan-Kirk, who submitted the photos. “It is an actual (demolition) derby, just with buses instead of cars!! It’s really fun to watch. We have had so many people stopping to take pictures and inquiring about the bus.” National Hog Farmer Editor Dale Miller remembers taking a photo of a metal pig statue in Pittsfield many years ago and asked whether it’s still in the town square. “We think it is privately owned now,” Brannan-Kirk responds. “But we still consider ourselves the pig capitol of the world!”
