Randy Jones, DVM, was elected president of the American Association of Swine Veterinarians (AASV) at the association’s recent annual meeting in Phoenix, AZ. Jones succeeds Paul Ruen, DVM, Fairmont, MN, who becomes immediate past president.
Jones is the owner and operator of a swine veterinary practice in Kinston, NC. He previously served in a mixed-animal practice for nine years. Jones is the former president of the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association.
Tara Donovan, DVM, vice president of Veterinary Management for The Hanor Company, Spring Green, WI, was elected president-elect. The company operates in six states and has more than 500 employees. She worked for 10 years as a herd veterinarian, and her responsibilities now include integration among all aspects of pork production in addition to production research and development.
Matt Anderson, DVM, Suidae Health and Production in Algona, IA, was elected vice president. Anderson has been a partner/owner for the last 11 years in the seven-veterinarian, swine-only practice.
