The 10th annual Iowa Swine Day, scheduled for Thursday, June 24, 2021 on the Iowa State University campus in Ames, is back live and in person. The program is packed with highly regarded speakers focusing on important issues facing U.S. pork producers. Conference organizers build upon the success of past programs by continuing to seek industry input from the planning committee. The success of past conferences has shown that the best approach to developing a program for the pork industry is to seek input from producers representing a cross section of the industry.

Changes for 2021 include:

  • Limited facility space due to COVID-19 restrictions. Registrations will be accepted on space-available basis until June 17, 2021.

  • Pre-registration is required to attend this program. No on-site registrations will be accepted.

  • Video recordings of conference presentations will be available following the conference on the Iowa Pork Industry Center website for those not able to attend.

  • COVID-19 protocols, as required by state, county, city and University policies in effect at the time of the conference, will be followed. At this time, Iowa State University is requiring face coverings while attending the conference.

Topics on the program will cover lessons learned during COVID-19, California’s Proposition 12, markets, feed biosecurity, African swine fever as well as a variety of other animal health and management topics.

The event program has also been submitted for continuing education units by the Iowa Board of Veterinary Medicine. When approved, details will be provided.
