As part of a new feed milling educational program at North Carolina State University, the school plans to raise funds to build a feed mill facility.
The curriculum and mill will support a comprehensive program of undergraduate and graduate course work, extension education workshops and research into best feed milling practices.
North Carolina is a leading animal feed producer, with more than 12 million tons of animal feed produced annually.
A legislative appropriation of $2.7 million was used for basic construction of the mill. Corporations have pledged cash gifts and equipment to furnish the mill.
Donations to the Feed Mill Educational Initiative can be made through the North Carolina Agricultural Foundation, Campus Box 7645, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC 27695-7645.
