Illinois Reproductive Seminars

The University of Illinois Extension Service has scheduled three reproductive seminars, at Effingham on Nov. 20, Sycamore on Dec. 10 and Springfield on Dec. 18. The University of Illinois Extension Service has scheduled three reproductive seminars, at Effingham on Nov. 20, Sycamore on Dec. 10 and Springfield on Dec. 18.

Topics include: gilt replacement strategies, using PG600, new swine reproductive statistics, induced farrowing, pregnancy failure, new reproductive technologies, artificial insemination efficiency, facility functionality, semen evaluation, and handling and genetic comparisons for reproductive performance.

Speakers will be Don Levis, director of the Ohio Pork Industry Center; Roy Kirkwood, Michigan State University; Mark Wilson, Minitube of America; Wayne Singleton, Purdue University; Tim Safranski, University of Missouri, and Steve Webel, United Feeds.

Participants from the University of Illinois include Rob Knox, swine reproductive specialist, Mike Ellis, leader of the Swine Odor and Waste Management research project, and Jim Pettigrew, professor of swine nutrition.
