The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has authorized $1.8 billion for conservation assistance, bringing praise from the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC).

NPPC President Jon Caspers welcomed the announcement and said the funding will help producers with conservation planning including voluntary programs such as the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP).

"These conservation dollars will help producers comply with mounting environmental regulations at local, state and federal levels," he states.

Producers interested in applying for EQIP funding can sign up at USDA service centers across the U.S.
