Bacon sales are being driven at more than 6,300 Taco Bell restaurants nationwide. The new bacon-topped Club Chalupa promotion features the pork checkoff "Bacon Makes it Better" logo. It will run through mid-April.
Foodservice providers like Taco Bell take in nearly half of consumer food dollars, supporting pork belly prices and consumer demand for pork, according to the National Pork Board.
The new entrée combines crispy, smoked bacon with marinated, all-white chicken meat in a Chalupa shell, topped with a creamy sauce, lettuce, tomatoes and a three-cheese blend.
