Fast Genetics hires Brad Belstra as manager of Reproductive Services in order to assist with the implementation of low dose and sex sorted sperm into the North American swine industry.

Belstra obtained his M.S. from Purdue University and his Ph.D. from North Carolina State University in the area of reproductive physiology with an emphasis in swine reproduction. Recently, Belstra has overseen the boar stud operations for a large integrated pork producer and prior to that he managed the technical services business of an artificial insemination supply company.

Belstra will join Kilby Willenburg and the reproductive physiology team in further developing Fast Genetics’ low dose and sex sorted sperm programs, specifically overseeing their commercial implementation. Belstra will be based out of Fast Genetics’ Swine Reproductive Center near Madison, Wis. The inclusion of Belstra to the reproduction team is strategically aligned with Fast Genetics’ vision to lead the industry in pig reproduction and assisted reproductive technologies.

Fast Genetics has rapidly enhanced the staffing of both its genetics and reproductive teams in order to add further value to products and services for its customers.
