Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has placed the Trade Promotion Authority legislation on the Senate calendar for consideration this week. Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has said that he will do everything he can to stop this legislation putting him at odds with McConnell and President Barack Obama.
The Senate is expected to vote on cloture tomorrow to try and move the bill forward. Cloture requires 60 votes.
