As members of the food supply chain, all of us in agriculture play a role in making safe, affordable and abundant food a global reality. This video was shot at a Gleaner’s Food Bank in Indianapolis as part of an effort to raise awareness of the urgent need to support solutions that will fight hunger, make food more affordable and protect the environment. According to the United Nations, technology is 70% of the solution in producing the 100% more food (based on 2000 levels) that will be required to feed 9 billion people by 2050. The video discusses solutions that exist to make safe, affordable and abundant food a global reality for the 1 billion people who don’t get enough to eat and the growing number of food insecure.
