Part 1
Mike Pearson kicks of the show this week with Eric Lee, a sales agronomist with Nutrien who is in Georgia getting ready for the peanut harvest. In the markets segment Mike talks with Jacob Burks from AgMarket.net where they discuss how this week’s Fed interest rate cut will affect commodities and crop progress so far. They also take a look at the cattle market.
Part 2
Mike introduces a report from Max Armstrong about the anniversary for the invention of the combine yield monitor. Following that, Greg Soulje is on for this week’s weather forecast.
Part 3
Next, Mike chats with Geringhoff’s Craig Lee about their new XFR header and Kim Dazey, GPX Intelligence, who is bringing the internet to the fields.
Part 4
Max Armstrong brings us another segment in BASF’s Plan Smart, Grow Smart series, Ted Jacobs discusses his approach to soybeans.
Part 5
Agricultural Meteorologist Greg Soulje returns to take a look at the long-range weather picture. In the Farm Progress roundup segment, Mike chats with Lanie Beetsma, Regional Sales Manager, Farm Progress who tells Mike about how harvest is going on her family farm in Northern Missouri.
Part 6
In Max’s Tractor Shed, Max shows off a 1958 John Deere 830D, owned by Amy Jacobs from Erie, Illinois. In the FFA Chapter Tribute segment, Mike talks with Ty Elrod, Kentucky FFA Purchase State VP. He has gotten into the beef cattle industry while in FFA. He’s excited about going across the state to meet other FFA members. In the Colby Ag Tech segment, Chad Colby has another report from the Farm Progress Show where he talks with Doug Applegate from Praxidyn, who is helping farmers with sprayer efficiency innovations.
Part 7
To wrap up the show, the Pioneer Between the Rows segment, Matt Vandehaar, takes a look at how corn rootworm has affected corn yields this year.
