Today, on Valentine's Day, people across the globe are letting loved ones know they care. For those involved in the U.S. pork supply chain, "care" is a daily commitment and one not to be taken lightly. From facility owners, caretakers, nutritionists and veterinarians to truck drivers, agricultural engineers, packers and processors, every individual has a responsiblity to do his or her part in responsible pork production. This begins with a pledge to uphold a core set of ethical principles. 

Since it launched in 2008, the We Care initiative strongly encourages farmers and employees to understand and consistently use best practices in raising animals. Second, We Care is a promise to the public that as an industry, America's pig farmers are committed to responsible and ethical animal agriculture. 

While today may be the day to show someone how much you care, pork industry members practice "We Care" principles each and every day. That commitment shines through these photos you shared with us this week.
