Four Star Veterinary Service, a business with locations in five states and 17 veterinarians focused on pig health, has launched a new website to keep its customers and the pork industry posted on its latest services activities.
In addition to new veterinarian profiles and an overview of Four Star's extensive services, the site features a section called FSVS News, which includes articles involving the clinic's veterinarians and customers.
To further improve communication with the pork industry, Four Star Veterinary Service will also be launching a free e-newsletter in early 2020.
'Best for the pig'
"We've come a long way over the past 25 years," says Doug Powers, DVM, one of the founding partners of the rapidly expanding business, which now has locations in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
"We've experienced considerable growth since 2005 when four veterinarians joined forces to form the company. What hasn't changed is our business philosophy."
Founding partner Bill Minton, DVM, agrees, but says the company's approach to swine medicine hasn't wavered. "As we've always said, 'If it's best for the pig, it's best for the producer,'" Minton says.
Diverse client base
Today Four Star Veterinary Service does business in 25 states, serving farms ranging from 200 to 30,000 sows and finishing operations that produce anywhere from 1,000 to 900,000 pigs a year. The clinic also works extensively with breeding stock companies and, in some areas, with show pig enthusiasts.
"With our diverse client base, our veterinarians understand that no two farms or production systems are the same," Randy Jones, DVM, says of the business approach. "Our veterinarians therefore tailor health programs to suit the individual needs and goals of each client."
