Mike Pearson talks about the Farm Progress Show 2024.
The crowds were huge in Boone, Iowa and the show as full of the newest equipment, politicians, outstanding pie and something for everyone on the grounds.
The personal connections made by both Pearson and Max Armstrong were very well received as they hosted events together in the hospitality tent.
CASE proclaimed 2024 as the year of the combine as they released the EF9 and EF10 models
In the fields, corn was being harvested at 25 percent moisture and yields were averaging between 200-225 bushels per acre. And at one point, there were 13 combines running in one field at a time.
And no one went hungry. The Boone County Cattlemen were serving up ribeye sandwiches and the Iowa pie lady was serving up pies and ice cream.
There was a lot of talk about farm policy--including the hope that the whole house could vote on the latest farm bill at end of September.
U.S. Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack talked about a fertilizer plant in the Midwest and the gave an update on the H5N1 vaccine that is now authorized for testing.
The show was packed full of innovation for agriculture.
